“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as EAGLES; they shall run, and not weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” ISAIAH 40 vs 31
As I have grown up and observed how the eagle lives I have come to the realization that there are a couple of characteristics borne by this bird in which life lessons can be derived. These lessons are meant to benefit world changers, visionaries, innovators – the leaders of change and are based on the principles to which the eagles have.
EAGLES FLY ALONE OR WITH OTHER EAGLES: eagles do not accompany any bird when flying or do they fly at the same altitude; eagles fly alone at very high altitude. When doing your things and setting plans do not mix with bad company as it corrupts good morals, work with those of the same mindset as yours. Keep in mind that: Blessed is the man who walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth I the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful (PSALMS 1vs1 – KJV)
EAGLES HAVE STRONG VISION: eagles can see and focus something which is 5km away. As a world changer be able to see your life five years and more to come and when partaking certain activities ask yourself will this matter 5 years from now. The bible says in Habakkuk 2vs2 “write the vision and make it plain upon tables…” Do not just live for today but know there is a tomorrow. What is your 5year plan/vision?
EAGLES DO NOT EAT DEAD THINGS: here we see that eagles are very much selective in what they eat. What are you feeding your brains with? We need to be selective with the movies we watch, the music we listen to, the books and magazines we read, blogs we read and people we take advice from. It is from these sources that the thoughts of a man are built and what thoughts are you building for yourself.
EAGLES FACE THE STORM: when there is a storm most birds rush and hide in tree branches and leaves. But the eagle faces the storm and goes straight to it. It uses the storm to gain strength and goes on top of the clouds. When faced with a problem, FACE IT, go straight and challenge it. See is as an opportunity to take you higher. Relish in challenges.
EAGLES TESTS BEFORE IT TRUSTS: Before the female eagle can take the male eagle for mating, the male goes through various tests to see if its trustworthy. The female eagle will fly down to earth and pick a twig then up with the male following when it reaches a certain altitude it will throw the twig down and the male has to rush and catch it and brings it back before it reaches the ground. When it brings it back the female eagle will fly to a higher altitude and the process repeats itself, this continues for several times until the female eagle feels the male is worth trusting. This shows us that whether in business or private life we should test commitment of the other partner before trusting. Don’t be deep in trust when you are not deep in detail.
EAGLES PLUCK OFF THEIR FEATHERS WHEN THEY FEEL OLD AND WEAK: when an eagle has grown old and have little strength to fly it goes to a private place and removes its old feathers until its completely bare. It stays there until the feathers have fully grown. This shows us that we must occasionally shade off old habits which do not add value to us for new ones. We need to take some time off to reflect on our lives’ habits and make changes.
